Has anyone here studied Okinawan Shorin-Ryu? I was wondering what you guys thought about this dojo. Or if anybody here has heard of Hanshi Kise or Shihan Greg Lazarus. Seems interesting..I might have to drive down there to see what they have. I was checking their rules; very traditional, but they dont have full-contact sparring. The rule I like the most; 11. A lower belt always bows to a higher belt. Failure to do so may constitute a challenge. Most schools seem to have gotten away from this mindset. |

I have been studying Okinawan Shorin Ryu for 8 years. I love the style because it is very traditional and usefull. I have a friend who attends the school in question and seems to really like it, although it is a bigger Dojo than what I am accustomed to, he assures me that the training is excellent.
