![]() | Karate is a slow/hard style, that follows the Block...Then Hit method. Kempo is a quick/ hard style, that follows the Block it 30 times...Then Hit method. If those are you only 2 options, then I would suggest not training at all, at least this way when you get beat up, they won't laugh at you for trying to defend yourself with an ineffective style. I would suggest reviewing the "British Self Defense" thread and follow the suggestions of the instructor in the video...the "Windmill" defense. |

what style of karate is it? i mean if it's straight okinawan karate, then no, but if it's like kyokushin, then i would definetly advise in you talking that do a little more research, then we can help you with more detail

![]() | its wado kai karate , the first japanese karate. taken from okinawan karate and put some jiu-jitsu with it. lots of attention paid to avoiding strikes , footwork,etc. the only diff here is that shorinji kempo doesnt do a lot of sparring as much wado does. i dont know . im lost |

![]() | i always appreciate any thing you guys tell me. im the rookie and thats why im here. you guys are mostly very experienced in what im just beginning. so i thank you for the advice and time you've given me. i ask a lot of questions but thats how im learning. its nice to have experienced martial artists to help me. |
