A thread bump occurs when you send an old thread back to the top of the forum (make it recent) by typing the word "BUMP"

hardball,

i asked afriend what would be a lesson he'd teach a complete novice, if he could only teach one technique, what would it be?

his reply, "How to sucker punch someone."

There's a reason it's called "sucker punch"... Only a complete SUCKER would let a potential hostile unknown get close enough to engage.

There is some wisdom to be found in surprise and ambush tactics.

The range of any engagement will vary by the weapon used. Tanto or ICBM? What's "critical" LOL

non telegraphic attacks with an air of nonchalance. suppression of body language is part of it.

if you don't present a threat there is little chance for preparation. only a complete paranoid delusional would be on guard 24/7.

must be very tiring.

A sucker punch usually follows verbal escalation..........................

I've seen more sucker punches on the basketball courts during pickup games than anyother place. Once the verbal assault starts you better take a couple of steps backwards to get out of sucker punch range. I know a fellow martial artist who would rather take a couple steps forward and get right in a guys face. Same thing different philosophy.

Stay away (out of HH weapons range/kick range). But, when YOUR mind (and experience) says: time to go. Better not hesitate.

I prefer up close and personal, I hate the nervous anticipation, so let’s get down to business. The better man wins.

Ever since I was child, I'm a big fan of Jacky Chan because he performs well in his karate tack tick. I used practice karate at home for some reasons.
