Default Japanese swordsmanship

Perhaps I have been watching too many Rurouni Kenshin videos, but does anyone know of any Japanese sword-based martial art that is similar in concept and technique to Hiten-Mitsurugi Ryu? By technique I DO NOT mean the common techniques found in all schools of swordsmanship, being those that are basic strikes, blocks, or parries. I am speaking of those techniques unique to the style. Please let me know as I desire to seek one like it!

I don't know the answer to your question but I can say this:

The Book of 5 Rings is a Must reading for japanese sword.
