Default Which Karate............

i do some MMA training with a guy who is some kind of karate master. i want to research it a bit but i have no clue how it is spelled. it sounds like.......kiyo-koshin. i have been told it is very similar to muay thai. it is supposed to be a very effective, straight forward, punch you in the face type of MA.

anywho, if someone knows what the hell i am talking about please tell me how to spell it. i would also like your input on whether or not you like it or not, if you think it is effective, ect....

also, this guy is from japan and speaks terrible english, so i assume he has only been in the u.s. for a few years. this means he had to of trained in japan which is a plus.

It's kyokushin, and it's a hard, full-contact style.
