Default Do you Goju?

Does anyone practice or have any information about Goju Ryu Juijitsu, i.e, origins, similarities/differences to other ma's of this genre? Any info would be appreciated! Mil gracias!

I was hoping to finding out what MA's are incorporated in it too create this hybrid and do you feel that it is taking the best of those MA's to form a very efficient means of self-defense? Also, do you study traditionally or do you feel that your training is much more informal? I am debating whether or not to pursue it or just study Koga Ryu Ninjitsu. Your thoughts......Mad Mally...Ipon?

Fist my style

The style I take was founded by GM Raymond Fitzpatrick, a student of GM Peter Urban, Nisei Gojo founder Frank Ruiz, and Master Earl Monroe. My instructor's name is Kyoshi John Coshigano, he's a 6 dan and he's been practicing for about 26 years.

MY style is a blend of Kyu-dan federation ju-jitsu and Nisei-Goju-Ryu Karate, we are more traditionally based, however my sensi dislikes kata and loves to fight. He trains us primarily for fighting, so he goes heavy on body conditioning and sparring. He also likes to focus on self-defense techiques, however I don't think those techiques would be very effective because they are based on traditional ju-jitsu techiques.

I enjoy what I study I go for black belt later this year and Sensei has me in training for it (which means I do 4 times the work as the lower grades). We have some great drills and a heavy bag in our dojo for body conditioning. I think the fighting aspect of our art is very good, I've been in several self-defense situations and my training has helped me to put a hurting on others. The kata and self-defense are done mostly for exercise and to work on body movement in close quarters fighting. We also work a lot of combinations, none of that stop after you land a blow or pussy point fighting garbage.

All in all I can't complain, it may not be UFC but my Sensei only charges 20 dollars a month to cover rent for the room that we rent out in the rec center. My sensei teaches us for the love of the art not to get rich (he despises McDojos).
