Try Japanese Jujitsu also, it's full of Judo. www.google.com and type in your search.

Not to forget Sambo... as long as you're searching. You're sure to come across the name "Igor" if you look around. He's got the scoop on Russian Judo/ Sambo. His kansetsuwaza is topnotch. ![]() http://www.groundfighter.com/products/catid/28.html Some clips!

Is that right? I have looked at almost all of them and studied several and while it is true that they give little in the way of detail, I have found no evidence to support your statement. If you care to provide a specific example of something wrong with the animations I would be happy to indulge in a discussion about variations in technique and what constitutes correctness in your opinion. If they are incorrect it should be brought to the attention of the staff... Feel free to report these errors to: Sensei@judoinfo.com

WELL SEEING THAT YOU ASKED THEY ARE ALL OLD FASHIONED STANDING STILL CLASSICAL JUDO. THAY ARE NOT DYNAMIC. THE GUYS ARE FALLING BACKWARDS IN SOME BECAUSE THE ANGLE OF ATTACK IS PUSHING THEM BACKWARDS OUT OF POSITION AS OPPOSED TO A POWERFUL MOVING ATTACK POSITION FOR THE DRIVING LEG. THINK OF PUSHING A CAR, IS YOUR PUSHING LEG IN FRONT OF YOU? THEN YOU WOULD GO BACKWARDS. IF YOUR LEG IS STRAIGHT UNDERNEATH YOU YOU WOULD GO BACKWARDS ALSO.
HOW OFTEN DOES SOMEONE JUST STAND THERE IN ONE PLACE WAITING TO BE THROWN ? THERE IS A BIG DIFFERANCE BETWEEN SHOWING HOW YOU THINK IT IS DONE AND HOW IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS ON TAPE. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? http//www.judoinfo.com/animate.url |

Kevin - have you ever heard of "an Example". The clips are proper examples of techniques...that's it isn't that obvious or are you oblivious. Come one don't start the psychotic stuff.

harai makikomi ; the guy is falling over sideways and lands on his elbow. why would you fall on your elbow and brace against driving your opponant into the mat. it is a"sweep"not a "lift and fall sideways". the contest clip is a good throw but the animation example does not show an understanding of how the throw works.

harai goshi ; the guy is throwing the opponant right where he is standing. he drives himself backwards out of position and as he falls backwards he drops the opponant? that is a very good example of the classical training. they don't learn it right so how can they demonstrate it.the power leg should be driving and the angle should be forward and driving the opponant backwards so he is falling. not the guy doing the throwing.

ogoshi; same thing the guy is standing still and falls backwards so he can throw the opponant where he is standing? his foot should be back so that when he lifts/sweeps the opponant the opponant is thrown forward landing in front not where you are standing.

hane goshi; once again the guy forces himself backwards ,out of position. so the opponant can fall where you are standing?no. the driving leg should have an angle of attack that sweeps / lifts the opponant so as soon as his feet leave the ground he is going in the direction of the throw.think of pushing your car. your leg needs that angle of attack.not straight up and down so you have to fall out of the way.and certainly not backwards pushing yourself out of position.
