Question Samurai Teachings

For many many years, i have wanted to study the ways of the Samurai, and i was wondering if anyone knew any schools that taught, Aikido, Iaido, and other Samurai Teachings, in the Houston, TX area..Thank you.

Edit:Please forgive me for the double thread, my internet is acting up, and it made me double post it.

Ancient sword art of the samurais. The samurais didn't use kendo. They used kenjutsu. Kendo developed from kenjutsu and is a descendant of kenjutsu.

I found that Iado schools tend to be very ingrained with the Japanese etiquette association with the samurai class. You can also check out the books "The Hagakure" and "Secrets of the Samurai".

Good luck with your training.

Are you thinking of "A Book of Five Rings" (Go Rin no Sho) by Musashi Miyamoto? There's also a fictionalized account of Musashi's life called "Musashi", by Yoshikawa Eiji. There's a great film version of that novel called Samurai (It's a trilogy).

Iaido has less to do with samurai and more to do with tradition. If you want samurai stuff go learn traditional jujutsu and kenjutsu. Japanese jujutsu is relatively common, kenjutsu is more rare.
