It's my first time competing in a knock down tournement, does anyone have any words of wisdom/advice for a newbie? How hard should I be training? what techniques should I focus on? Are there any good sparring drills that I can use with a partner that will better prepare me for th tournament? Thanks.

The thing's you aren't good at..and can't be bothered training...are probably where you should be looking first.
