    Default Couple of Judo questions.

Have any of you been able to use Judo in a real life situation?

Has Judo kept you in shape, and do they train you hard?

Also, I would like to know if anyone knows of any good Judo schools in queens ny, or even in manhatten.

    Thanks!

I think judo woul be a good add-on to your style if you had a good grounding in a martial art like kung-fu or karate (with punches and kicking). But, like, aikido, I can't really see it being that useful as 100% of your self-defense.

    Yes.............

"In all countries where personal freedom is valued, however much each individual may rely on legal redress, the right of each to carry arms - and these the best and the sharpest - for his own protection in case of extremity, is a right of nature indelible and irrepressible, and the more it is sought to be repressed the more it will recur."

Yep. Drunk dude and I hit the ground. I just held him close to me in my guard for like two seconds before the nearby people grabbed him off of me. Didn't apply a submission hold or anything, but the most important thing was that I didn't get hurt.

You bet. Total body work out. Really good cardio for endurance.

Hmm, I wouldn't doubt there would be a lot of judo schools up there if you researched it. And if there aren't, you can always join up a BJJ school. I know Renzo Gracie has his up there in midtown Manhattan.

    Have fun training.
