Default First Aid Survey

O.K. this survey is for Blue belts and beyond. In your training where you required to learn first aid? Today, I had the proud pleasure of administing first aid to a seizure victim. With the help of another person we were able to revive this seizure victim who was in a motorized wheelchair. The paramedics were called but we had him revived before the medics got even close to the scene. Everyone thinks martial arts is about violence but healing is a big part of the arts especially the advanced ranks. Anyone have any first aid/healing stories to share?

Thumbs up Heat stroke...

Niwajin-jutsu. Farmer and bone setting...(?)

I carry bandages in my wallet. Does that count? LOL

Preventing injury is like that proverbial ounce of something over a pound of first aid?

Yes, I know some Kappo...(Kappo katsu) also Red Cross certified lifegaurd swimmer, CPR and first aid.

...

Next?

Blue belt in what?

I had to get an Australian Senior First Aid Certificate to teach at my karate school, and my BJJ teacher has the same requirement.

That cert covers CPR/EAR and trauma first aid (breaks, sprains, stabs, eye injuries, concussion, etc.
