Default From the mouth of a babe

Yesterday afternoon I was playing some judo with my young daughter. She's 8 years old. We reviewed and practiced the timing for deashi harai and I tried to show her a few variations of the trusty hip throw.

It is difficult to keep a little kid focused on the details that make Judo so effective (for me) so after a few minutes of hands on gripping, pushing, pulling, sweeping and turning, I showed her some of the pictures, animations and video of these throws at the Judoinfodotcom website.

She made this observation completely on her own.

She said "Dad, you could slam their head into a wall doing that"

I smiled and gave her a high five!
