Just to show that every style has its uses, it's just HOW you use it (and of course, WHO uses the style. mental alertness, reflexes, all come into play to help you utilize what you've learnt).
This guy using judo and taekwondo totally kicked his opponent's butt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuTS2...eature=related of course, his opponent was totally crap. but to people who simply pick on judo and taekwondo and call these styles totally useless, I just don't think it's true. also, even if someone has had years of training in any style, but lack the mental alertness, reflexes and willpower, in a fight towards an untrained brute who only knows one or two kinds of direct no-bullshit punch, yet possesses higher mental alertness, instinct and more aggression, he'd probably win. |

arent the guys in the video kung fu practitioners? that is not tkd or judo.
tkd recieves flack because in the 80's tkd and karate were used in a number of cheesey action movies that became very popular, thus creating a large interest in tkd and karate style flashy kicks and moves, and this in turn lead to a boom in many watered down tkd/karate mcdojos that just wanted to cash in on the flashy martial arts moves people saw in movies like lionheart, bloodsport, american ninjia, kickboxer, karate kid, all the chuck norris flicks, etc... |

San shou, San da, the vid is old school Lei-Tai fighting. I don't know how one would come up with the conclusion of JUDO + TKD but thats okay. It's all CMA in that vid.

i think the reasons TKD gets so much fir on it...simply cuz its so widely used, everyone figures that they have found the weakness, but if u look at it thuroughly, TKD is a great style, it honestly is, people just repeat what others say, its human nature, to take insight from others and apply to the public. but, TKD i must say gets pwned by Muay Thai and various others. the most useless style of martial arts i know... karate.. out dated... over used... over-exposed thru the media... if any martial style should b gettin jumped on, i'd say karate. and Judo, is such a great style for close quarters, it honestly is, you have so many grapples and breaking moves, i saw soem guy snap this other chump's arm in the blink of an eye, it was just bananas. i'd never NEVER know on judo... and im instructor level haha. case closed.
