Default Roy Suenaka: Aikido tough guy!

Few posts ever mention this guy, who is one of my favorite martial artists.

If you notice his experience includes Judo, Karate, Ju-Jitsu and Western Boxing.

Roy was a streetfighter back in the day, and proved his Aikido worked constantly, by meeting challenges and beating people up who gave him crap.

I suggest the book "complete Aikido", which details everything he did, and why he is so great!

That's old school stuff Mr. A. Makes me wonder who may know him. It's such a small MA world. I know a few guys that were into Aikido back then.

Probably a lot of important people know or knew him. Wally Jay is mentioned in his book, among others. He lived in Hawaii and was heavy into Judo and ju-jitsu plus western boxing. Then moved to japan where he trained with the founder of Aikido, then on to okinawa where he trained in shorei karate. Then he moved to South Carolina and started his Aikido/Karate school there. It may have all been TM, but he was crosstraining a lot!
