Hey garland.
Why are you always cussing. Motherfucker this, motherfucker that. Kids read these threads, too. Don't you have anything else to say? Get a thesaurus.

In this day in age, with what people can see on tv, or hear on the radio, it's completely inane to try and take the highroad on issues of what's aired out publicly. Why censor things, it's an ostrich approach! The way I express things verbally is fairly common idiomatic spoken English in this day and age, it's preposterous to assume that people don't speak the same way outside of public forums like this. Might as well expose them to it, because they're getting it on all fronts anyways. The f-word doesn't hurt anyone, it's not even very SHOCKING anymore, the only reason I like it is because of the way it can work as punctuation, and because it flows smoothly with other words. It has a good gutteral sound to it. Why should I change my diction, or walk on eggshells for eggheads. |

The only valid extensions are bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg mpeg mpg pdf png psd tif txt wmv zip. Make sure the image is on your desktop, then browse for it using the manage attachment button. Click upload, and make sure there aren't any errors before hitting OK. This will take about 15 seconds. There is also a 2mb limit on attachments. So you will get an error, if the image is too large. If you have problems PM me. I'll post it for you using a different FTP server. The only reason I bring up your cussing; your great ideas are getting covered with an aura where it looks like you're trying too hard to be a badass. Yeah, kids can go to porn sites, or find people swearing on the internet. But You don't think that martial artists should hold themselves to a little bit of a higher level. Otherwise we're just fighters, and not artists at all. Hardly someone to look up to. A little etiquette is the only thing that separates gentlemen from the rest. I really do enjoy reading most of your posts, so I offer an opinion only. Take it for what you will.

1) Walked into a pub..pissed after a 21st to go get some more grog.
"We'll play some stick's",we say's. Some dude walk's up and go's " you wanna play a game?" I say's " ye maate, we'll give you a game"(innocent like- I was pissssssed) He goes: I'm from Thailand mate, shaking my hand with some fucked up looking knuckle headed handshake- so I sat down looking real coy like at me mate's-one my age who talk's too much(speed freak) and the other is his step Dad-A REAL MACHINE!(approx 50 year's of age..from Sandstone WA) I sat down and he walk's up to my mate(We're both 26ish) and he quickly get's behind his stepdad...oooh Gazza walk's up and this ****'n Thai (white dude he was ?!?) run's straight into him with like too much dutch courage and hit's him in the nose./..he's bleedin' right...after all the endless bullshit I'd heard from speedy I thought I'd never see the day...but wait there's more... Gazza go's(shout's ),"you ****'n ****"and like cradles his head, type thing, and sledgehammer's him into nothing. He's a baby on the floor(not even cryin' but)..I'm at the door going"let's go fella's...as some ****'n skinny ass(comparitively) bikie come's round the corner goin'," what's goin' on" as me and my maate go "Nothing mate he just fucked up-he just fucked up"...whilst Gazza is rippin' his shirt off goin' " any other **** wanna have a go!!" Stay outta bikie pub's is all he had to say to us after that. The moral of the story is...experience is everthing...my maate talk's shit and the law of the Jungle does apply. Respect your elder's- or you could wind up fubar'd. Bad associations... 2) ...

that pub incident...if the stepdad wasn't there we would be gone...but then again he was probably only after him anyway...the second one (unmentioned) wasn't my fault either: but the point is..it's over in one or two puches..it doesn't usually go to the ground...

...I've never seen the tackle...in actuality...
My maate's(?!?) a BJJ and he reckon's-to speedy- that he can just negate all he's got and finish with ground and pound...especially on concrete!! But he's a purple belt. But-only one on one I suspect..like religion-It's all money, money, money!! In a pub fight it would be dodgy- how maatey are the other blokes!! Kung Fu say's don't go down..so doe's Karate I suspect aswell as most other's..BJJ say's take the fight to the ground and there is no more fight...that's only in an isolated cage maate...but surely...well...I'm confused

Basicly, if it were only me under scrutiny, I could care less about whatever impression I give out, because this is the way I talk amongst friends and peers, so I would consider a little light verbal ball-breaking session somewhat of a friendly tiff and good, relatively clean fun. However, when I learned recently that people whom I look up to read this forum...well, in that light, many of the things I've said seem to have degraded me in my own eyes. I would like to offer to retract my statements, but since they're already out and abound, I can only offer a humble appology, and make a verbal commitment to watch the content and the context of my posts. {and, yes, this even includes my conduct towards jubaji, all of my posts towards your trolling and flaming stuff I considered to be of the sort I listed above, sorry bro, but it was fun trying to get a rise out of you well it lasted, and I now refuse to lower myself to the same type of conduct that I've engaged in for the past little while, so try and find a new playmate, okay.} I would also like to say, up front, that although I tend to embellish stories a little bit (every good writer and story teller does), I have tried to keep my stories, the ones that some of you guys were pumping the forum for, as legitamite and straight forward as possible. I have some of these seemingly outlandish stories, i.e. the O-town skins story, and all of the like, because I was put into rather precarious situations accompanying my little brother to concerts, or hanging out with his friends at punk shows. To clarify this, I am not, nor ever was a punker, a skinhead, or anything of the sort, just a regular guy watching over his brother. My brother did indeed cut my face, and it did go exactly as I posted it. Ask anyone who knows me, I still have a pretty gnarly scar right above my right eye. I may have also posted about this or that, but truth be told, and I have never denied this, I have lost fights...granted not in the ring, because I haven't had enough chances there, only having had one ring fight, and I am hardly a physical specimen, having just recently quit drinking and smoking. I also think I posted about hanging out with some kids as "unpaid muscle". Let me also clarify this. These were people I knew from school who got kicked out, or kids I knew through kids that got kicked out...yada yada yada, I hung out with these kids before they became complete and utter scumbags, so I was eventually put into positions where I'd have to help them out out clubs and raves and coffee shops, etc etc, where they'd somehow end up in some sort of high intensity drama...although fights were pretty rare, they did occur, but the vast majority of the time, posturing was a preffered method of engagement. I don't associate with many of these people anymore, in fact, according to people I still have some minimal contact with, a good many of them are facing some rather unfriendly charges, and the rest of them are either trying to kick one or more illicit substance and failing, or screwing up in any other variety of ways. This is the truth, believe it or not, I won't lie to you, your entitled to whatever opinion you have, I'm simply trying to make amends among the forum members whom I've either offended, or alienated with my posts. If I slip up, please bring this post to my attention, and I'll cease and dessist whatever line of vulgarity (and vulgar means common in latin, more proof that vulgarity is just the simple speech used by the proletariat and working class, although I'll try and steer clear of it, as a sign of good will to my fellow forum members.) or whatever else I start to ramble. I'M VERY SORRY FOR PAST BEHAVIOR. SUMIMASEN. |

Nah. I agreed with your original point. The whole idea of "these words are bad" "these words are good" is really pretty stupid.
People talk how they speak. My boss runs around "F" this and "F" that, and so does everyone else. The idea that "how a man speaks" is any measure of his heart is just untrue. Too often in this world a man with no heart who knows how to imitate gets all the glory, while men with heart are overlooked for superficial reasons. Foolishness. It's all an act. People should let their hair down and worry less about WORDS and more about REALITY. Don't worry about a man saying "****" for god's sake! Worry about people starving and dying by the thousands and thousands daily for political aims. Worry about the fact that somehow our leadership has tricked us time and again. Worry about raising costs and greater interest rates and fake-food and produce without flavor or nutrition. Those are real issues. I would be a happy, happy, FREAKING happy guy if the worst thing this world was experiencing was some fellow who proudly sticks out his full-of-piss-and-vinegar chest and utters the occasional curse word like a proud 13 year old in grade school. Big goddamned deal. Martial artists aren't role models, and shouldn't be held to being role models. I'm a guy that likes to get together with others and wrestle around. If someone else makes me a role model, that's on THEM. What people need is EMPOWERMENT. And I am a freaking poster child example of empowerment. As far as Garland's stories, I don't know if they are true or not. But I know people who DID live like that with their sib's. It isn't so outlandish. My fights were mostly all in high school. We had lots of kids from the poorest (in my city: blackest) area of this city bussed into a school that was all white middle class kids. I was poor too, but they didn't know that, because my skin was so pale (I'm a cracker) and their parents (and the tv) had said that meant I lived in lollipop land with a freaking gum drop walk. The inner city kids fought in numbers, and they didn't care what happenned. They were tough, boxers mostly.. they had fought their whole lives. I was one of the few to stand up to them, and I am a small guy. They held my arms and smacked me up good a few times..one approached from the front and distracted me, the other got me from behind... Knocked me down and stepped on me some. There was more than one incident. I learned a few things - It doesn't hurt getting hit. I also learned it sure CAN hurt getting hit. Dunno. If this sounds like I'm racist, I'm not. These are just who my antagonists were at ths time in my life. There were other incidents in my life, but after high school, I pretty much figured out that I didn't want any more of that foolishness.
