He was a senior instructor under Paul Vunak and represented PFS in Europe.
He improved his system constantly, always looking for something better and reached a more personal style, I trained for a while under one of his instructors some years ago, at the time he told me thet Mike Faraone was already moving to something else. He was/is very interested in Ueshiba's work and philosophy and his combat techniques were very knife oriented. His advanced instructors train with sharp knives, I saw some of them do Lu Bud at it was quite impressive. He transfers his knife techniques and principles to hand to hand combat."Use your body as a blade Be one with strength No Enemies", that's what he says since a while now... he was just street fighting oriented and had a very agressive approach to fighting. I believe he still is now, but his views on combat seem to have become more philosophical and in his school they teach aslo health maintenance exercises. And that isn't a bad thing... |
