How about Bruce Lee Versus Benny The Jet Urquidez.

I think if Bruce Lee had been a true fighter he would have fought Benny The Jet Urquidez.
Benny has won the World Kickboxing Title on several occassions.
Benny also has several Blackbelt in various Martial Arts as well as having studied Muay Thai Kickboxing Japanese Kickboxing Grappling Judo Aikido & several other styles. He has also studied boxing and was sparring partner to many boxing champions.
I believe Bruce Lee was an excellent Martial Artist & Instructor but if he was that great why did he not fight in the Full Contact Arena?
Yes I think Bruce may have been a decent street fighter & Instructor but the Worlds best Martial Arts Fighter well that I would say no to as he never proved himself in the ring.
Yes he had a point fighting competition at one tournament in Long Beach California held by Mr Ed Parker and his study on Martial Arts is very impressive . And mixing the arts both grappling & striking & bringing the fighting arts into modern times by creating jeet kune do was an incredible achievement.
However other Martial Artists Like Benny Urquidez Master Sken Dan Inosanto Master Chai have also been doing the same thing for many years.
Take a look at Joe Lewis Bill Wallace & Chuck Norris.
They too mixed bothg striking & grappling arts and Chuck Norris is now a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & trains under Carlos Machado in Dallas Texas.
I will always respect Bruce Lee as possibly the best Martial Arts Instructor but he was not the best Fighter.

Here are a few links of true fighters who have actually fought in tournament yet the world believes Bruce Lee could easily beat these great fighters without ever having fought in the full contact arena.
Streetfights yes, Full Contact Tournaments Bruce never entered.
So yes respect Bruce but also wake up & taste reality.
    All the best,
    Phillip.

I don't think Bruce Lee could have beaten the old-school champs. I don't think that was his goal, was it? He philosophized about improving fighting methods and was creative about taking the best from other styles.

There are Bruce Lee fans who will say Bruce Lee could beat the incredible hulk....lol, and we know the chances of that happening.

CQB Firearms training the Ultimate Martial Art

Well after having completed two Close Protection Courses & having studied various Martial Arts.
I truly believe that if one truly wishes to feel safe and able to protect once Family Loved Ones & Friends. One must take a Fireams Course learn rapid fire & CQB Firearms training as well as doing Firearms Safety Courses.
Lets face it in the street there are no rules & the only rule is survival.
You do not know if you are infront of a Psychopath who is on steriods or on PCP.
Also your attacker may have a higher pain tolerance level than you.
And what about his agression levels?
Ive seen Guys just crumble due to thier Attackers agression.
Fear can be your friend but it can also get you killed.
And no matter how strong or psychotic your opponent is, rember the Firearm is the true equaliser in a fight. But rember this would be used as a last resort when one is truly in fear for thier life.
    Also Gun Laws differ worldwide.
Yes Martial Arts are excellent but I say train both in Martial Arts as well as in Firearms. That is the way of Modern Combat.
If a psychopath has a 12 inch sharp Kitchen Knife & All you have is Martial Arts God help you .
And even worse you are cornered by two or more attackers with weapons what are you going to do?
Firepower Rapid Fire & CQB Gun Training is the only thing that would safe your life in such a situation.
    That is the truth.

There is only one problem, I live in UK. If I carry any firearm I will be going in Jail.

So I will stick to Unarmed Combat, and use whatever objects I can use around me as a weapon, when I need a weapon.

I think you all forget that Chuck Norris and Joe lewis both trained with bruce lee and found his information very useful. I'm sure they used his methods in the ring.

Chuck & Joe were both Champions long before they met Bruce Lee.
And Wing Chun Tactics learnt from Bruce Lee were never employed on the ring by neither Chuck or Joe.
Yes they learnt a few things from Bruce but Bruce learnt from both Chuck & Joe.

I'm not talking wing chun techniques I'm talking fighting strategy and the 5 ways of attack. I'm sure those were used in the ring. They are both recorded as being students of Bruce Lee.

    re

    1. People who knew both said, Benny in the ring, Bruce in the street.

    2. As much as respect world champions, the best ring (mat or cage) fighter is not necc. the best street fighter. Bruce was interested in 2-second bust-ups, not 10 round dancing/boxing matches or 3-hr. submission wrestling matches. Context is important.

    3. Read Mr. DeMIle's post on BRUCE LEE'S TEMPLE OF THE UNKNOWN messageboard

    Benny Urquidez Further info.

I truly believe Benny The Jet Urquidez would beat Bruce Lee both in the ring and in the street Benny The Jet Urquidez is a fighter who would fight anyone under any rules & he had Black Belts in several styles he is an excellent strikker as well as one hell of a Grappler.
Gene Lebell & Gokor Chivichyan taught Benny Urquidez Grappling. And Benny Urquidez is also the author of several excellent training books & Martial Arts Training Videos & DVDS.
Iam including a couple of links regarding his training Books & Videos.

You are right Bruce Lee wasn't the best fighter. But as far as training to be a fighter, if you ever look at his training schedule it looks like he was training for a fight all the time. But you are right he wasn't a champion fighter. I do know that bruce lee and joe lewis exchanged a lot of information. Joe lewis started training with bruce lee when bruce was still young.
