There has been a rumor going around for some time, the Benny Urquidez lost a challenge match (bare knuckle) to the so-called Grandmaster Dr. Philip Holder of American Wing Chun, or Yee Gi Ying-whatever it is called now.
If this is true, it would have some bearing on the BL v. BU issue. These jkdjfgf messageboard really disappoint me, like the whole crapload of crap about Wong Jak. I would rather be trolling pro rassling m-boards-- thier chat about fiction is more real than this crap. sayonnara forever, long like Bruce Lee |

Phillip Holder Versus Benny Urquidez that I would love to see considering Benny Urquidez has Blackbelts in 20 different Martial Arts Systems and has also studied both Japanese & Muay Thai Kickboxing as well as Grappling under Gokor & Gene Lebell. He has 200 fights no losses.
As well as having fought a Death Match in Hong Kong & beaten 4 World Class Muay Thai Kickboxers. Now thats only a small bit of information regarding Benny Urquidez. Lets face it Bruce Lee was a good Instructor & Martial Artist yet he would have been seriously beaten up had he entered the ring against Benny Urquidez who fought in real Kickboxing Competions as opposed to the Movies & a few minor street encounters. Phillip Holder against Benny The Jet Urquidez I cant wait. Hope its a Deathmatch. And maybe we can send Phillip Holder Flowers at his funeral LOL. Regards Phillip. |

actually benny the jet lost when he went to thailand. he fought a thai kickboxer and got beaten badly. however they tried to hide that from people in america. after that defeat, benny never fought in thailandand again, yet claimed to be the best ever with no losses. beny and his american kickboxing couldnt hang with real muay thai kickboxers. after that defeat, benny included elbows, kickwit h the shin, and knees into his kickboxing. before that it was all karate style kickboxing.
check out this page. http://members.aol.com/Thaiboxing2000/muay.html it has a lot of great info on muay thai, and muay thai vs other arts. it also has the whole story of how benny got beaten in thailand. his corner had to throw in the towl. it has some pictures too. theres also pictures of Don wilson getting beaten by a thai boxer |

Thats a Lie Benny fought 4 times against Thai Kickboxers fights were decleared no contest.
LOL . Here are the video links. http://www.canadianmuaythai.com/videoclips1.html http://www.bennythejet.com/ http://www.mikemiles.com/urquidez.html http://www.fightingmaster.com/legends/benny/ http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/sea...988775-8110406 http://www.thekaratevoice.com/articl...s_a_rare_e.htm http://www.hyekatchdo.com/legends/benny.htm http://www.tommadsen.net/Profiler/Pr...0the%20jet.htm http://www.completemartialarts.com/w...yurquidez.aspx http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0882054/bio Benny even fought a Deathmatch in Hong Kong & won its on one of the links Ive added. So before you criticise Benny Urquidez do your homework. Benny could have easily deafeted Bruce Lee as well as any JKD Fighter. At least he retired undefeated. |

And it ISN"T a lie. If anything it is one of the biggest cover ups in martial arts history. Of course he wouldn't include this defeat in his website or any established North American websites b/c Benny the Jet is suppose to be invincible. He is "undefeated" how would it look ifpple knew he lost to a Muay Thai figher? The bogus thing about it is that the American's that saw the match called it a draw even thguh Benny's corner threw in the towel! And he onyl incorporated Muay Thai boxing into his arsenal after he got beaten by the Muay Thai figther. This also gets me into the whole American Kickboxing thing which IS a watered down version of Muay Thai kickboxing. |

From what i saw in those clips Benny Urquidez wont the fight against Narongnoi Kiatbandit but lost to Prayoud Sittiboonlert so i must say though he is very talented I would say if he fought bruce in the ring bruce would loose but on the street bruce is a more complete fighter then benny at the time i think he would have schooled him. But i like these clips alot some very talented fighters.

Although I respect Benny as a very talented MA I believe Bruce would have 0wn'd him in a fight, ring or street. Bruce wasn't simply an actor nor just a MA. He was a force of nature! He was also VERY intelligent and it showed in the way he fought.

No, he never fought him because DEAD PEOPLE DON'T FIGHT! Bruce would've admitted it if he really felt that way. He was very honest about these sorts of things. He uses no way as way, thus he can do anything, he can fight however he wants, he could throw a book at him if he wanted, he could win or he could lose. However, in reality, he would've used what would've worked best.... A concept known as the straight blast!
