Buster Douglas vs Iron Mike Tyson definately a haymaker but not a sucker punch. Or was it? Hassim Rachman vs Lennox Lewis 1, definetely a haymaker but not a sucker punch. Now, I forgot who it was, but about two years ago someone was cold cocked after a prize fight. The loser {sore loser} walked over and sucker punched/haymakered the dude after the gloves were removed. He was heavily fined and suspended but a good example of a sucker punch being a haymaker. Someone here has to remember that.

Do I remember that? I was on my way home from my last trip to the desert. I took video of the rainstorm we just missed and sat down to watch Friday night fights on the Motel TV (it was Saturday) The loser was embarrased and frustrated the whole fight and lost soundly. After the gloves came off he came over to the winner's corner and just as the hands came out to "congratulate" him..... BOOM!! Pissed me off! What a loser!

The Butler did it.
James Butler Vs. Richard Grant Think he was still pissed off about his 1997 loss to Grant? "Grudge" match went bad for him? I think it was more of a short hooking punch than a haymaker but it was a sucker punch and it got the job done. Took a few stitches to fix his toung!

Getting hit with taped up hands is probably worse than bare knuckes and definetely worse than a gloved hand.

I think I know where you're going with this...but, I would love it if you would elaborate on this theory of yours a little bit more before I add my $0.02. |

my personal opinion would be that, bareknuckles flay and lacerate, whereas gloves allow a boxer to hit harder without risking damage to his hands...hence the tape allows the fighter to hit harder without risking true injury to himself, as well as still having the hard surfaces of his knuckles open enough to have them cut the opponent.

conditioned generally means flatened and calloused knuckles...that hurt you later on...and even so, it's not necessarily the "hardness" of the knuckles, but the force of the blow and the physics behind the break.
