Absolute hand-speed! I don't think I've ever seen hands this fast, including Bruce Lee and Jet Li.

Anyone else experience people with that kind of quickness? Were they able to employ it? I've seen some guys with blinding speed (like the guy in the vid), but they couldn't get any power behind it. It was more or less all arm, if you know what I mean.
By the way, does anyone know who the guy in the video is? With the trapping he's doing in the video I'm guessing he's a JKD guy.

I don't know. I've seen pretty much every known vid of BL and this guy is damned fast. Maybe not as skilled as BL, but for pure quickness I think he's right up there with the best of them.

That guys name is Tommy Carruthers. He takes JKD and he took boxing and some other arts before(i forgot). I have his showreel, he does pullups with his legs facing the cieling and the 2 finger pushups. He's very impressive, and even people who knew bruce lee say this guy has better flexibility. His website is www.tommycarruthers.com (I THINK).Originally Posted by Nutz
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately none of his videos work.
**Edit**
I found another site with more clips of him:

this guys pretty impressive. i really like some of the wing chun hand techniques he mixes into his stuff. its given his hands a bit more variety than just boxing alone does. whats even better is how he looks like your average joe. if u didnt know of him and saw him in a bar or on the street you would never immagine that he possesed such skills. goes to show u shouldnt underestimate anyone. immagine what that guy could do with a knife using that kind of hand speed![]()
...gotta keep training...
actually, they work fine but you have to save them to your hard drive. RIGHT CLICK on the video, then SAVE TARGET AS to your hard drive. The videoclip downloads to your computer.Originally Posted by Nutz
cool. then you can put in mediaplayer, and play at 1/2 speed to see it all in slow motion. sound too. This guys hand speed is amazing.
just for fun: speed bag video clips - not Tommy
This is my favorite guy, i DL'd that video from ares early in the summer. All my martial arts buddy's sit around n watch it when they come to my apartment. A kickboxing friend of a friend was unimpressed. I asked him why and he said all you would have to do is siccosor kick him. I have no idea what he was talking about. I think he's retarded.
Tommy has pretty fast hands...youre right eyegouge...the kickboxers a dip. Tommy has fast feet as wellOriginally Posted by Eyegouge

who does your friend think he is, Cung Lee?
Alex thinks he's a badass, he hits really hard for a 170 lb guy, kicks even harder, i have real bad brusies on my legs after we spar. But he is really truly a moron. He refuses to learn BJJ. He wrestled in highschool and he thinks that's all he needs. Kickboxing and Wrestling to him = victory. I tap him all the time. He uses his kickboxing to stay out of the clinch really well, but thank god i'm a great level changer and circler, otherwise he'd walk around all the time proclaiming that kickboxing was all anybody needed to beat martial artists.
Tommy is pretty impressive, amazing strength(those wierdass pullups with his feet facing the ceiling) and amazing speed.
I was completely amazed by the handspeed of this guy, and whats even better is that he stays local to me. Im gona head up to his class.
