Other silats? Pentjak silat is like "Martial art". There are so many styles and substyles of Pentjak silat that the popular styles usually have a specific name sometimes bases on animals or not they all have some things in common but differ with specific techniques, tactics, antics, and weapons. Spears, blowpipes, and the bow and arrow are common in some styles while others favor a shield and short sword. Still others favor the kriss and many the karambit. What style(s) of Pentjak Silat and the lineage(s) would be a good start... Atjeh? Bima? Champaka? Delima? Essti? One of the many Tji- styles perhaps?
