confused about what jeet kune do actually is

So basically if I understand the philosophy behind JKD, I can use it without learning under an instructor. For example if I learn MT, Kali, BJJ and I take the moves I can use the best or the moves I like, I am using the JKD concept. Thats what I understood but as I was reading on some JKD websites, they say they teach JKD I, JKD II etc..
Can't JKD be given in 5 minutes if its as simple as make your own style?

In response to your first question yes you would be doing JKD if you choose to call it that.For the second question....most JKD instructors will have their own curriclum that they follow.You basicaly will learn whatever they teach as their base and expand on it.JKDC have some of the worst schools because most do not have base arts so everyone is learning something different.Not all schools are bad but the majority are.

JKDC means Jeet Kune Do Concepts.OJKD means "orig" Jeet kune Do (basically Jun Fan Gung Fu)

Its all BS...just by saying you teach orig JKD....you do two things....go against the principals of JKD....by not trying to evolve and hold it in a time zone that happened more then 40 years ago.....and your a liar!

i like how all the jkd people like to straight up ignore the fact that bruce lee said in the most specific of terms that jkd wasnt a style and that if u ever saw anyone advertising to teach jkd as a style u should keep away.

If you gow back at first Bruce DID call JKD a style. then later grew away from the idea. But Bruce did set down a training method that was for JKD. Even gave certifcates for levels of his JKD. JKD is misunderstood. But it has a format of learning. Then from there your on your own. What you discover add and tyake away becomes yours alone. But As said befor. the roots start with. JKD. first called Jun Fan. then later devloped to JKD. And if certified to teach the material Why not say you are a JKD instructor. BUt if you put this and that together with no real background Then why call what you do JKD. Just call it something else or call it mixed. In the end in a fight it has no name. Its just your way of fighting. No art has all the answers and a person just can do what they do. exposer lead to discovery. JKD is just 1 way to get there. Many others out there. Keep it simple and and find what you need Be it JKD or anything.

You really want to pester Sifu Tackett with this age old poser? It's been done to death. Give him a break and try a search. Do your homework and then come tell me what Jeet Kune Do means TO YOU.
