Hi,
You know, I learned a complete series of gunting techniques on a standard Wing Chun Dummy. Don't know if this answered your question or not. BIG Sean Madigan http://www.bigjkd.com |

Datu Kelley Wordon has a dummy perfect for what you mentioned, it has padded arms that are very durable as well. Stuart has one, maybe he can comment if he reads this. If not, I've worked out on it, and if thats what you are looking for, you shouldn't be dissapointed. I forgot the URL, I know someone asked about it earlier and found it, maybe he can post it here. If, not I'll ask Stu. And then somone can put it on the Equipment Thread.
Take Care

The weapon arts imply the they can stop the unarmed man. A complete martial art implies any fight can go anywhere...be ready and able to go everywhere. |

nic, BTW, I have a kicking dummy that is a metal clothes rack from a department store. You can carpet or foam up the bars and you have a great cheap, training tool that should cost you under 40$, depends on how much the store charges you. Look for places going out of business or throwing away broken racks.

nic, you may have to give me about two weeks before I can send that though. I'm moving and am disconnecting my comp tomorrow, and I just found out that the phone line wont be hooked up for another week and a half, so no www for me.
For now though... I am in the process of building a grappling dummy with this method, when I finish I'll try posting a pic and probably put it up on the web site as well. I found an old army jumpsuit. I measured some cardboard tubes(to hold blueprints and such) to the size of bones (forearm/upper arm/thigh/shin/spine and am going to wrap these peices with old clothes, jeans material-the heavier the better. I am running some metal flex hose with some iron attatchments inside of the cardboard to add some weight, and using duct tape in huge amounts as the connecting joints so the can also bend under enough pressure(simulating a person struggling). Don't have a head yet, but Im hoping to hook up with with a manaquin and behead it soon, then put a mask on it. I have no idea for the hands yet, but I will fill some shoes and duct tape it on to the legs, probably. I'll try and take step by step pics and post it on the site when done. Anyone else have any tips on this?
