hunters hunt animals because laws have made it illegal to hunt stupid people.
I'm am all for the hunting of stupid people. Oh and Book of Five Rings. Paraphrase. the gun is perfect from a wall but fails once inside of sword range. You can defend against a gun, but the odds are against you. That doesn't mean you can't do it. Have I sparred with a gun? a replica yes. I've also sparred with a stick and a knife, keys, a chair, etc. In case you all are wondering the chair won seriously hunting serves a purpose when done responsibly. We have a major deer problem in st. louis. They were letting archers hunt inside the city and in peoples back yards. Why? Because the deer were killing people by jumping infront of cars. I have seen the video of the guy getting the shit beat out of him by a deer. Hand to hand vs. a deer doesn't go so well. Cats kill for fun. anyway, there was no way in hell I was going to quote the questions to all that but there are the answers.

knifethrower, can you confirm a couple of things for me please?
Do you have armadillos in Texas, and do they jump if they are about to be run over? The substance of a fellow Texans integrity rides on your answer. |

Sure it wasn't a Moose? I've seen a clip of a guy getting stomped by a Moose. I suppose they're pretty similar, but on a different scale. I think the Moose attack was on a hunter who smelled of Moose due to a pheremone spray the hunters use. Maybe the Moose didn't fancy him. Bit like chatting a girl up on a forum and discovering her idea of cuddly, means lard filled spandex in real life.

and remember I don’t have the stomach to hunt anymore so I know how you feel, kind of. Do a little reading on the gun thing though

![]() I'm told they jump up and can wreck a windscreen though, so watch out. I'm wondering if they might be related in some way to 'Haggis', which tend to leap left or right depending on whether they are male or female. |

Anywhere there are critters there will be STRANGE stories about unusual or downright remarkable events. While a typical armadillo might curl into a ball for defense against a threat another might be startled ... Deer don't usually dance across the hood of your truck but my Uncle had one do that... While he was driving a deer actually jumped from the side of the road ONTO his truck and trying to stay upright on the moving truck made it's way across the hood to leap off the other side...

Testbuggie- this is why your sifu is hesitant to train you. He wants to ensure you're capable of knowing what the "right reasons" are, and who's ass deserves to be kicked. I can't say I blame him one bit. Not to say he won't train you- but it's very understandable why he's hesitant to. Becoming a man, learning martial arts, or in my case- going to Marine boot camp, is all considered by anthropology to be considered a 'Rite of passage". Rits of passage have one thing in common: Until you demonstrate you are ready- no one will simply assume you are. Until you show you're worthy of training, you won't be trained. Keep in mind, it's not because he has something against you- it's because he doesn't know you. Show him you're a good person, willing to train, capable of learning, capable of patience and you'll be trained. It has nothing to do with the school, the art, the probation, the government, the sifu, the sun, the moon, or God. It's on you. Finally, remember that a good sifu puts hard work into training his students, and holds himself personally responsible for them and their actions. Return his gift by showing him the respect he deserves.
