One thing that I've found is good for working the shoulders is doing pushups with your hands real far apart. Instead of them being sholder-width apart try moving your hands out further. The resulting loss of leverage puts a good deal of strain on the shoulders as well as the chest. I too am poor and work out at home, but I'm good at improvising and I've done a pretty good job at working my whole body, with or without weights.
