future of jkd

In my view, the future of jkd should be about things like knife defense, gun defense, club defense, multiple opponents, and defense from disadvantaged
positions. FMA and silat, along with muay thai for strikes and bjj/shooto for holds, should be emphasized. One good thing about the mma craze is that
we now all know about what works in a one-on-one fair fight.
Now those of us in jkd (or wing chun!) need to focus on how to survive an extremely unfair fight.

good point. I think in reality though, you can never really prepare for an actual fight, especially for those who've never been in one. Even if we train how to disarm knives, guns, and fight from disadvantage areas, until it comes time to defend against actual opponenets for your LIFE!! it's hard to say.

BTW: it's called BMA Blended Martial Arts.. You can't mix martial arts techniques you can blend them
