Weight training AFTER practicing is a better idea. It's difficult to train fast and precise movements (with the goal of making your movements faster and more precise) when you've spent all your energy weight-training.
Check out this old thread for a lot of different viewpoints. It's from the Muay Thai forum. As a Thai Boxer, say yes or no to weights ?

Yeah I concur. Lift Weights after you practice your MA. If you do it prior to doing MA your more likely to have tired muscles therefore it will decrease your execution, speed, technique, etc.
Also make sure if your lifting weights, especially for MA purpose, make sure you do 4-6-8-10-12 reps and 2-3 sets. Make sure your weight that your lifting is comfortable enough yet challanging to lift. If your working on being a body builder then the higher the reps are the more muscles you would gain, if you work on a mild of reps such as 6-8, that's generally the Martial Art category. But that's one point of view!!
