It does say his final Australian Tour, I hope that's what it means, and not his final tour period.

Guro Dan is getting older and I can understand if he is starting to phase out his seminar travels - its another reason to go whenever you can.

To the best of my understanding, Guro is not ceasing his seminar tours, but rather just seeking optimise the amount of travel he does. 48 weekends of the year worldwide, especially to the lengths of Australia, must be exhausting.

Delighted to say I will be seeing him this weekend in Bournemouth, so it may be something that comes up in conversation.

He's on the cover of the March 2008 Black Belt magazine. The topic of his article is JKD Grappling. Interesting read if you get the chance.

Guro travels more than any human I have ever known. It's got to be crazy. If he's done with seminars, good for him. He deserves some time to relax after 50+ years of making other people better. Let the rest of us go see him for a while, and let him have some weekends with family.

Michael, since you mentioned you're seeing him this weekend, would you please give him my best? Thanks.

Lonnnnnng day today! Up at 6AM, 3 hour drive to Bournemouth, 5 hours of superb Kali and Silat training with Guro Dan, 4 hour drive home. Still, sat down with dinner in the oven and pint of Guinness in hand, happy days

I spoke to Guro and Joel about the seminar touring and there is certainly no intention to stop, just to make the schedule a little more sensible and less arduous. You should have seen him move today, just awesome.

Mike,

I offered your hello and respects to Guro, and his face lit up at the mention of your name. He couldn't believe I knew you, and asked how we knew each other, so I explained our training of old with Vu. He asked if you were still with the Military or still training Spec Ops, I gave him the state of play as best as I know it. Guro said that he has lost all his best guys to the Military and Government Agencies, and has lost touch with too many of them. He said he misses you Mike, and it would be great to hear from you.

Thank you for that. I will send him a letter right away. The last time we spoke personally was shortly after my son was born (when he and Paula sent their congrats and whatnot) so it's been nearly a year. Time really does get away now and again.

Anyway, thanks again.
