Default The mind

If u practise a combination(hitting) like 50 times a day.how would u knw that when ur in a fight, your mind would select the combination?what im asking is what period of time would it take for your mind to use the combination?i knw it depends from person 2 person.is there sumway of finding out except fighting?

1800 repetitions to create a habit.

100,000 repetitions to create a conditioned response.

Your brain will select the best option it finds in the time available. The repetition of the combination tells the brain that this is useful.

1800 repetitions depending on what you are working on can take a few hours or a few weeks.

100K takes a bit longer, for instance 1000 punches a day for 100 days.

If it was easy everyone would have great combat abilities. That's why after you've been at martial arts for 25 years some stuff is just easy and it makes learning new stuff easier.

bruce wasn't big on patterns. Combinations are a two edge sword, they allow you to string things together, but if you rely to much on them you become predictable and also create opening for your opponent

Let them flow, don't think about them too far in advance.

Books, videos, dvds, youtube, get a heavy bag, speed bag and a wavemaster. Depending on your budget get a grappling dummy also. Then find a coach or instructor ASAP!
