Default Is thsi a true Lee story or not?

Quote from someone...

me: Who, when and where did Lee kick a guy over an eight foot fence?

I'm not too sure what you're asking here. I hate to say it, but this is another of the anecdotes told by Bruce Thomas in his book, which is where this info came from. I don't know when it happened, or who it was. It happened at Bruce's home. He and Thomas were there at the time, when this guy jumped the fence and challenged Bruce to a fight. Bruce, enraged that this guy had invaded his home, snapped a side kick to the guy's chest, sending him flying back over the fence
Sounds highly unbelivable, wondering how much truth there to it

Question

i'll bet the answer is somewhere in the middle. I've heard about Sijo's power, and I bet the fence was something like 4 to 6 feet high....

just a guess thought

I heard the story.
Never heard anything about someone flying over a fence

From what I read a guy jumped into his yard to challenge him, and Bruce kicked him the chest before he could even finish his sentence. The guy flew maybe into the fence and bounced off or something, but flying over it? Probably not.

I have heard this story relayed by a former student of Bruce's on a video documentary. The only detail he gave in this particular video(the name escapes me) was that Bruce had hit the man harder than the student had ever seen. To my recollection there was no detail given about him being sent over the fence as a result of a strike.

When I heard the story, it was from a friend of mine who'd heard Ted Wong (I believe) tell it at a Nucleus meeting. He did kick the guy back over the fence (and apparently broke a couple of the guy's ribs in the process). The guy was his next door neighbor. As to it being an "8 foot fence" ... no clue. I kind of doubt it. It was probably an average 4 ft. fence and I would imagine that Bruce's kick picked the guy up and "sat" him on the fence, then he toppled over to the other side. As amazing as Bruce's power is reputed to have been, I doubt he sent the guy over the fence cleanly.

Also, according to my friend, Ted said that Bruce later regretted his action. That the argument hadn't been that important and that he'd let his temper get away from him when the guy came over the fence.

At least, that's the way I've heard it ... but it's all hearsay, anyway, unless any of us were there to see it :-)

Regards, Mike
