Check out Dennis Newsome's webpage. Some sample techniques were shown in John Soet's "Martial Arts Around the World."

Default HOW OLD is this thread?

Clearly Stickgrappler has moved on to bigger and better things... He hasn't even updated his own website in the last few years...

JHR (52) is mostly dirty boxing tricks and whatever martial art style they could pick from in the "hood" or the big house...

Those are the guys YOU should be training to defeat.

Yeah. I really didn't see him doing anything revolutionary.

I've gotta say that I don't see the point on his "catch and kiss." He turns his back on his opponent to catch the man's jab, then turns back around to throw a hook at his head.

I'd yank my fist out while blocking his movement at his right elbow so he couldn't turn around, and take his back.

I've seen similar "moves" in both judo (ILLEGAL LOCK THROWS) and silat. The lever is a destruction. If your free hand holds a (pointed) weapon in reverse grip the destruction can be followed up with quick nasty groin shot...without turning back around...

Also... there is another point to that. Never catch the wrong arm or you end up in a rear naked choke.

(Obviously enough?)

Sure, and it makes more sense to me if I want to break an arm.

But he uses it to strike, which looks really inefficient to me.

You're probably right, Tanto. I really wasn't to impressed with some of those weird hyper-Afro-Kung fu movements the guy was doing to distract and confuse his opponent. However, his elbow work and blocks for punches were damn good.

As far as "street-fighters" go these dudes as bad a**.

Thumbs up

maybe i should start working out in playgrounds like these guys. all the milfs and hot chicks walking their dogs will see my herculean display of masculinity and will instantly become turned on sexually, as i try to catch a good glimpses of their butts as they walk by.

Yeah, I kind of thought it was weird to have these adults fighting violently in the children play-areas.

We used to fight in parks some, but we found a spot far off away from everyone to do that.. We didn't hide, but we made certain we weren't in anyone's way..

Of course, Fall put an end to that.. and we had to find a studio to rent..
