Fist Sifu Dwight Woods

Sifu Dwight Woods of Miami. I've seen him
on the web and he looks decent, but sometimes
he seems to teach more like a kickboxing coach than
a JKD man. What is his background, and who certified him?
I have nothing against him at all, it is just that he is only known to me
via the web. I have never seen any reference to him in a magazine or book.

seen him give JKD How-to videos in expert village and is a fellow expert in the self-defense section of allexperts.com

As an Inosanto Student I assume he's a JKD-Concepts guy.

His profile there at allexperts:

Quote:
Expertise

I can answer questions relating to training in Bruce Lee`s martial art philosophy, Jeet Kune Do, and its associated disciplines.
Experience in the area

I have trained in martial arts since 1973 and in Jeet Kune Do since 1983. I am a Full Instructor in Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do certified by Sifu Daniel Inosanto, Bruce Lee's premier disciple.
Organizations

Inosanto International Martial Art Instructors Association.
Thai Boxing Association of the uSA.
Wing Chun Kung Fu Association.
Boxe Francaise-Savate Federation of the uSA

Could you please explain the difference? How does the teaching method of a kickboxing coach differ from a JKD man?

Mr Woods is a Full Instructor under Guro Inosanto, which given the company that puts him in means he must be an outstanding martial artist.

JKD, especially the latter day LA Chinatown period under Guro Inosanto, does have a heavy emphasis on Jun Fan Kickboxing. I also see that Mr Woods is a Thai Boxing Instructor under Master Chai and a Savate Instructor. So yes I can imagine he teaches a strong base in Kickboxing. Nothing wrong with that.

Dwight is a stand up guy. He is very humble and runs a first rate operation in Florida.
