![]() | I heard that martial artist centuries ago used to break their knuckles on purpose for some reason, conditioning? Any help would be appreciated.

![]() | dwoolman: Having broken a knuckle myself, I can tell you that there is no real way to tell if it is broken for sure without getting it X-rayed. If it is a minor break, you'll probably just have to tape your fingers together and take it easy on that hand for a while. If is it a serious break, it may require surgery (though the chance of this is not terribly likely). If you can afford it, definitely go to the doctor. I can't say that I know much about intentionally breaking one's knuckles for the purposes of conditioning. Take care and train hard, Jim
