I have a natural broken rhythm while sparring with weapons(kali). This does not spill over to empty hand sparring. Does anyone have any suggestions in how to develop this broken rhythm? If I knew what I was doing with weapons I could try the same thing. I do not know what I am doing or not doing. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Believe me or not Dr Jack , but a metrenome can help. I have one (being a part time guitar player) that only cost $15. It's the size of a credit card and operates on a watch battery. It runs from 40 to 250 beats per minute, and you can choose the timing. (4/4, 3/4, 2/4, A440) When working on the bag or sparring, just click the sound button(it's actually loud for the little thing it is). Start off working within the rythym, then throw in a quick punch, kick, etc... in between the beats(on the half beats). Here's a link where you can pick one up. Hope this helps.
