![]() ![]() | In 1992, I started teaching a credited JKD course for a local college. I had been using Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do: The Textbook for the course textbook. I want to change to a different textbook. I'm open to suggestions..... Thanks, Tim |

![]() | More info on the class would help. Is it a philosophy course? If yes I would suggest Hermann Hesse version of Sidhartha. Its a quick read with many lessons/philosophical thoughts that are consistant with BL philosophies. Of course this would only be a supplement to additional material. |

![]() ![]() | Hi, It's definitely not a pholosophy class. The core content is practical self-defense/fighting methods. It is 90% activity and about 10% lecture. I was thinking along the lines of Paul Vunak's Anatomy of a Streetfight. I'm not sure though..... Thanks, Tim |

![]() | I would suggest Ron Balicki's new book over Paul's, I think Paul's is too one-dimensional with the constant "killer instinct" banter. I have been in JKD since 1981 and I like this book the best. I would supplement this book with the Tao of JKD because of its physical training and technique content.

![]() | TIm, Check out Sammy Franco for something in book form. IMO Sammy is the logical extension of Bruce's JKD. In personifies the "Reality" concepts. If yo want to stay within H2H look at his "First Strike" or "The Bigger They Are...". To broaden the range into weapons and mental look into "1,001 Street Fighting Secrets". For something really radical look into his "War Machine". His website is www.sammyfranco.com and you can look at book reviews at amazon.com Paul Vunak's "Anatomy of a Streetfight" is a distant forth or fifth. Geoff Thompson's "Dead or Alive; the Choice is Yours" would also be another one to look at. I'm not a professional instructor but I get to teach privately on a regular basis. These are the books I would select if establishing a curriculum. |

![]() | If you are teaching Jun Fan material, I would suggest Kevin Seaman's book along with Ron Ballicki's. Seaman's is a good description of the core material while Ballicki's builds upon that core. |
