I am 42 years old and I have very little Martial Arts experience although I have always been interested in Martial Arts. My 12 year old studied Aikido for a while and is now taking Shao Lin Kung Fu. I work out regularly and practice sparring with him.
I recently tried an Aikido class with my son which I enjoyed very much but the more I read about Bruce Lee the more I am drawn to JKD. I was wondering if anyone can help me locate a school in the Central MA area near Worcester/Boston/Springfield. Also is it worth ordering the training videos on the JKD federation web site and training with my son at home?
I'm not looking to be the next Bruce Lee but just to learn basic self defense and be able to use it if I need to.
Also what are the advantages of JKD over say Karate, Kung Fu, boxing or Aikido? Thanks for your help.
