    DIP MAK

    COME ON!!!!!!!!

I'm am an asian so as a little kid l was exposed to more than my fair share of chinese video MA video's

One of the most freaky things that l saw was the Dip Mak

pointing to some pressure point to kill or freeze a person right there and then.

I'm shamed to admit that the inner child in me always suspected it was possible,
then l had to freakin read and watch things on that subject that claim the Martial Art is very real and still being taught.

I realise that there are various pressure points that can be dangerous if hit hard, but a Martial Art consisting of poking someone in various seems to be far fetched.
Practioners claim to use Chi! l dont deny the existence of chi,
however the whole subject seems to be very vague and hear say.

Any one care to enlighten me on this ????

First of all, it's DIM MAK, not DIP MAK. Secondly, it's complete and utter bullshit. Pressure points do not exist in the exact same place on every body. They may be in the same general area from person to person, but that fact will make it next to impossible to rely very much on delivering a knockout hit to a 'vital' pressure point.

That being said, it's good to know something about general pressure points because in a grappling situation you may be able to exploit one or two in order to get your opponent to move and create space if you need it. But don't kid yourself by believing that pressure point knowledge (also, don't forget; chi=joke) is going to be the deciding factor in a real fight.

The real factor is going to be attribute development and hours spent training with an uncooperative partner in realistic situations.
