![]() | Truthfully, I've seen white belts at my karate school train more fiercely with eachother than those people. Not to offend anybody or anything.

![]() | Sure they do. You guys should post some vids of your own training so there can be a REAL comparison.Otherwise it's simply talk. "hardcore" training is full contact striking, blasting, groundpounding, stickfighting, and scenario training. It should resemble as much NHB as possible. I think the "hardcore" karate kids are funny though! ![]() KIIIAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! Ryu

![]() | From what I saw on the "hardcore video" those people bearly touched eachother. At my school we bust eachother's lips, ribs and hands up. Sure this is just talk, and whether everybody believes me or not I don't really care. I'm just saying that most of the people in those videos looked a little aprehensive to hit eachother. Much more so than at my school. At my school we don't really care about getting hurt or hurting eachother(much to the disgresion of my instructors). Yes, I know these are all just a bunch of words, but I'm going to look into making a video about my Karate school now that I got a new digital camera

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The whole point of this kind of training isn't to stand there and duke it out -ESPECIALLY with the knife training.

I'd say the training in the vid is just about right if you are to come back for more training tomorrow. I have often seen people who don't train with weapons that much say comments like these "oh, at my school we bust lips every minute and broke ten ribs per sparring round" but when you hit them on the face with a stick they fall apart. Ps. getting hit on your face with rattan makes larger damage than getting hit with a baseball bat. I have seen a face that got hit full force with rattan - it was ugly and required immediate medical attention. I have seen pictures of a face smashed with baseball bat and it was no pretty sight either. I don't think you'd like to do that on a daily basis, or even risk doing that by accident.

![]() | I should have made it clear that my comment only applied to the unarmed training. I'm sure that this video is an example of good training, I'm just not used to seeing people fight and not hurt eachother, its just strange to me. I definately understand why they weren't hitting eachother full speed with the escrima sticks. My comments don't apply to the weapon training, which I'm sure is fully adiquate training. Its just the unarmed training that looked like my mom's kickboxing class.

However, we must keep in mind that this is old material. From what I understand from Demi, this footage is years old, and he has evolved much from this point. I like Demi's other stuff, so I am inclined to believe him. Demi: if you had the time to post some of your newer work, that would be cool. Liked the tactical shotgun, by the way. Very nice.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Also keep in mind that the unarmed training is NOT free sparring, but a drill. The person in the suit is feeding attacks, The "defender" is countering with destructions and interceptions, entering, and finishing. The guy in the suit is trying to hit the "defender" and feeding random attacks, but the pressure is turned down - otherwise this would be open sparring.
