From what I've seen, there are simularities, and differences.
I think WC was Lee's primary art before he began developing JKD. JKD however also includes techniques and ideas from other arts such as Savate. Lee would see something he liked, tweak it, and add it in as he went. He was constantly refining things, and there have been many discussions on just what his art would look like if he had been able to continue the evolution. 1 example of similar, yet different is the trapping. WC trapping seems to be more 'rigid', while JKD trapping has more of a freeform flow to it. Check out Paul Vunuk. (sp) I found his wooden dummy video informative.

One of the largest differences between Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do is the footwork. JKD footwork tends to be explosive, drawing from western boxing and fencing, while WC footwork is a little slower.
