![]() | Why not ask your instructor? I do not believe that Jun Fan Gung Fu contains any weapons. Its pretty much modified Wing Chun. But I don't believe that many people teach straight Jun Fan these days. Jeet Kune Do, under Dan Inosanto's influence, has grown to incorporate a lot of FMA techniques in it (including weapons). If your instructor came from someone who studied directly with Bruce, but not Dan, than you're probably learning some Jun Fan derivative. Depending on the instructor, you may or may not have weapons training. If your instructor is from the Inosanto lineage then you'll likely have at least some limited exposure to FMA weapons (sticks and knives primarily). But, it all depends on your instructor. JKD is such an umbrella term these days--depending on the instructor it could have a Silat/FMA flavor, or a Muay Thai/BJJ flavor, or some mixture. |
