Default straight blast gym fall camp

Straightblast Gym held it's annual fall camp this weekend and it was a blast! Matt and crew are really reshaping the martial arts world. I am only now beginning to realize what a fundamental shift is occuring in the world of JKD thanks to guys like Matt. It is truly refreshing to meet someone who isn't resting on the coat tails of his instructor and is thinking for himself. The most interesting thing to come out of camp for me was the idea of developing JKD as a non attribute system. We certainly develop and train attributes, but we don't count on them! Very few people will ever be able to bob and weave like a boxer, or kick like a thai boxer, or stop hit like Bruce so why develop a system that relies on these things? Matt and crew have truly simplified JKD into something everyone can use regarldess of attributes that you bring to the game. That is kind of ironic since he is often acused of foccussing only on nhb training.
Rodney King was fantastic!!! If you ever have a chance to check out his crazy monkey system of boxing check it out. You will change everything you do after that!

Thats a very interesting point about swtiching the emphasis away from non-attirbute training!

Crazy Monkey boxing sounds interesting. How does it differ to conventional boxing methods?
