Hello, all!
Just wanted to send out a congrats on the JKDU in South Africa article in the Jeet Kune Do Guide (July 2001). I had been away from home for a while, and while perusing through some magazines on a newstand in Okinawa, I ran into the article featuring Morne. Great story and excellent pictures. It's so good to see JKDU making its mark in the pop JKD culture. Your article was a standout in the entire magazine. All the others are the same re-hashed, and re-processed points and topics. JKDU is setting the path for all of us "new" generation of practitioners. Sifu Burt, my group and I look forward to having you and Sarah over in August! We're all excited to have JKDU here in the Pacific Norhtwest. "To know and not to do is really not yet to know." --- V. Hugo Aloha, Lou M. Faralan |

I still haven't been able to find that magazine! Thanks for the input Lou. I am very proud of Morne'. He isn't letting a little thing like being 12,000 miles from the JKDU headquarters slow him down.
I am looking forward to visiting you and your students Lou. We are going to have a blast! (pun intended ![]()

Hi Lou,
Nice hearing from you. Especially nice hearing that you saw our JKDU article all the way in Okinawa. How is that for breaking tradition and searching for the truth Glad the article had such a impact on you, pity though the magazine doesn't even get distributed here in South Africa!!!It takes allot of hard work and dedication to be your best and to make good progress, but with Sifu Burton as your motivation and the results being so rewarding it is all worth it. I can't imagine any other JKD association that can offer what JKDU has to offer. We can all be thankful & appreciate the dynamic leadership of Sifu Burton and Sarah. Thank you guys. Good luck with your seminar in August....you guys are going to have the time of your lives!!!! Be your best, Morne |

Burton:
Check out the Barnes and Noble in the Kahala mall — they had the Jeet Kune Do Guide with Morné's article the last time I was there. Take care, Jim McRae

Hey, Jim is back!!
I found the mag today, and the article about Morne' and JKDU South Africa is very good. It was also nice to see Richard Bustillo, one of my first coaches, showing boxing, stick fighting, Muay Thai, and BJJ in his article. See you tomorrow Jim, and congrats again to Morne'.
