Default Back Injuries

Morning everyone,

I'm not sure how much conditioning people do for their backs, so I wanted to make this service announcement.

I just started getting back into my training last week after about two or three months of not being able to do anything because of a pulled muscles in the lower back and sciatica. Overall this has had nasty results to my goals of going for my 4th phase and entering apprentice instructorship -- the worst part is my cardio has dropped 100%.

Anyways, I had a lot of opportunity to research back injuries and the martial arts and its actually a pretty common thing for JKD people (aside from hip injuries). So, all I would like to say is...add some excercises for these areas into your daily workouts:

- sitting and standing hamstring stretches
- lower back stretches

There is a book called "Stretching" which I highly recommended and has stretches for these problem areas.
