I heard that Thai Bri's mental condition was caused by trying to pronounce Szczepankiewicz out
loud.

Legend has it that if you say Szczepankiewicz three times while in a dark bathroom Thai Bri will appear in the mirror.

Why Tae Kwon Do is a Crap?
It is because tae kwon do's kata is the same in Karate's kata, a stop by top motion when executing, while... its fighting sparring is full of JUMPING JACKS!!!! you know? here's the question: WHERE COULD YOU FIND THAT JUMPING JACKS OF TAE KWON DO IN ALL OF ITS KATA, POMSE, SET PATTERNS???????? you know? kata, pose or set patterns are your blueprint in your fighting, what your kata looks like is what the way you fight. Thats the reason tae kwon do is a crap. |

TKD as a system is not crap, it has many useful components when taught correctly.
It is no more crap than Kung Fu, Karate, JJ, BJJ, JKD, etc. It's all what you put into it and what you want out of it. Children often want to say there art is the best, and then when they get their asses handed to them they decide their art is not good and switch to a different one, and repeat. They never learn to fight or be good at anything. It's all the work you put in.

And my reply was:"No, Brian, you cannot have the last Jelly Filled Krispy Kreme Donut, there were two for Ryan, two for you and two for me." I don't see how that's a life scarring conversation.... Context people! ![]() Spanky |

Sherwin... I've never once done "jumping jacks" during either sparring or kata. Must have missed that lesson. I've seen other threads like this where you claim kung fu's superiority over TKD. I don't have any personal experience fighting against kung fu practitioners. However, my son was in a tournament a couple years ago, as a red belt, and fought against three wing chun students of like rank, age and size. (And, doesn't it usually take longer to attain red belt level in WC than in TKD? So, they must have had much more training...) He beat all three of them, easily, outpointing them 3-0, 3-0 and 3-1 (he had no rest between any of the matches, so was beginning to tire a bit, or that third kid wouldn't have scored a point either.) So, based on that limited experience, kung fu is inferior to TKD as a fighting art. That would, of course, be generalizing. So, I'll revise that and say that your katas are much prettier than TKD katas, but, fighting skill depends more on the natural abilities of the fighters, combined with their skill at applying the techniques they've learned. Thus, all else being equal, there are likely some kung fu practitioners that could defeat some TKD practitioners, but there are also some TKD practitioners that could defeat some kung fu practitioners. And, of course, Thai Bri would stomp the stuffing out of either of us, because we both use katas during training... ![]() |
