I have a talent for jumping and I think people that jump very high have a natural ability but I am pretty sure you can increase whatever ability god gave you: try stacking kick shields (or other objects) of increasing height in a row and taking off from a standing position with both legs jump over each in a row bringing your knees to your chest. Practice practice practice. Also, if you can lose upper body weight and increase explosive leg muscles that will definately help everyone. I myself have gotten more muscular in my torso and my legs unfortunately have stayed the same so my top height has gone down. I still jump high but it's just not the same. The highest jumpers I know are all very lean and wiry and fairly light (150 pounds or less at about 5' 9'') I know that if I lose my upper body weight and worked on my legs I would gain a few more inches back, but I am not willing to do that heh, I worked hard to put on the muscle I have!

Hey.
There are a couple things you can do to increase your jumping ability. 1. Think light, light, light.(the only the that should feel "hard" is the dan tien). 2. Don't drive your weight back down. A lot of people ,for whatever reason, drive there weight back into the ground. Driving the weight into the ground is generally done by the legs or arms. (sorry this is kind of hard to explain over the internet). 3. When jumping literally kick your butt with the back leg. Bend the knees when you land to absorb the shock. 4. Squat jumps. Just as they sound. Squat, then jump. Do them succesively and explosively.
