i see many people talking about how tae kwon do is bad. Let me tell you something first of all if your not learning from a korean dont judge the art. Next in american more then 90% of the tae kwon do is shit but go to korea and learn it. America waters down everything if you havent noticed. American wanna be tae kwon do, kung fu, and even karate is all shitty so dont talk about things you dont have any clue about.

i can say that their 45 45 kicks are useless in combat..... i can say that their Ak Kick is not recommended in one of the Primary Attacks but it is good only in a Follow-up kick but these variations of Jumping Spinning Back Trust Kicks to the opponents head or chest are very very very effective...... especially if theres a fake or false kicking then a true kick follows.....

'dont talk about arts you dont know about'
This is an excellent point. There are many tools posting about shit they have never done. You can't bag an art till you've tried it.

Given this... don't you wish to go back to those good old days where training is like in the army?

yeah, in my club all the adults have respect for their seniors (by belt not age) but the juniors can get cheeky or not be bothered to do tasks properly and if they step out of line all the instructor can do is give them push ups, make them stand alone or do somthing which isn't really a punishment. not to make it sound like theres a disapline problem in my class i just mean on the occasions that it happens. ...its when people can't be bothered to do things properly that they start doing them sloppy. |

I'm sure there are people in TKD that train hard and can kick ass. Just like there are in Karate.
But they are in a teeny weeny minority. By the way, I do not have to train in art to know it is shite. All I have to do is watch how they train. |

I have 15 years experience with TKD. I've trained with Korean masters just off the boat. I have an advanced belt rank. I can say that much of TKD is taught badly and is useless for self defense. The Koreans are worse incedentally than the Americans in that regard. At least the Americans are updating and modifying the techniques and training methods.

2. america doesn't watter down everything, in fact, we tend to make things better and more effective. you are starting to see more and more powerful american bjj'ists and muay thai'ists. paul vunak, dan inosanto, ed parker, matt thornton, are all american do yourself a favor follow your own advice and don't talk bad about things which you obviously have no clue about

Tae Kwon Do is a very great art if you maintain your long distance fights to your opponent, once your opponent is now in your short distance, your in jeopardy...... but maintaining the fight in the long distance, with false/fake kickings to fool opponents eyes..... tae kwon do will be a brutal art, especially those trusting fly kicks...... but i am not impressed with their hand alphabets and 45 45 kickings.....
