Default Diff between Hwa Rang Do and TKD and effectiveness

Whats the difference? is Hwa Rang Do effective on the street? If so any Hwa Rang Do schools in Houston? My last TKD school in Houston With Master Lee put Hwa Rang Tigers on are shirts. So is it the same or not? These clips I have make Hwa Rang Do look intresting http://www.hwarangdo.com/videoclips.htm

or im better off with hapkido? I also plan on attending Sat. Boxing Lessons in Katy with Pat Swan because I live in Katy and boxing looks like an essential.

Hwarang do is allmost identical to Hapkido. Those takedowns and there finishing moves are very familiar to me. I think its a good style; you really don't start free fighting or training in dynamic environments until you reach red belt (2 years). You will be learning some of those takedowns against static oponents, just like the video, which is fine for the first few months, but after 4-5 months you need more resistance and movement from your oponent so you can grow and get more realism. Sad thing is that you are practicing these moves for over a year in a static fashion and some people $$$$ pay their way up through the ranks without really developing the fundamentals.

I've seen brown belts that couldn't kick above their waste, even with little power at that. Check the school first and see the students.

After taking a bit of kendo and watchin Dr. Joo-bang lee use his sword. I'd say that even with my limited knowledge of the sword, I'd probably whoop his ass.

he looks like he's the star wars kid.

Must be nice to say that, with out the man to defend himself.
Who knows you might be able to, but I probably don't think it will happen.
It is one thing to say something like that. But it is another to really do what your mouth claims. So keep working on your sword tech. and maybe some day it might happen.
