Default New Belt Color

I'm happy to say that I got my 2nd belt last night (Orange at my school). It feels really good. I'm 35 and really out of shape so I have made a commitment to my family and myself to get in shape. It is my goal to be able to do physical activities with my son as he gets older, he is 2 right now. The last thing I want to do is become a couch potato and miss out on all the fun stuff that Dad and Son do together.

I have to say that since I started my mind is a lot clearer when it it comes to learning new things in class. I found myself being confused about the simplest moves or padwork but it's all coming together now.

My Journey has just begun.

congratulations on your acheivement, im sure if you continue training you wont miss out on a thing with your son. Its great to see that your reaping the benifits of the training both mentally and physically, keep up the good work.

It's always great to see new faces in taekwondo.

Dont worry about any problems you run into along the way, chances are most of us have ran into the same problems. I hope this becomes something you can do for a long time, as well as your soon. Good luck

Good on you for getting out there and having a go. Stick with it and the rewards will keep coming. All the best.

Way to go!! I'm 36 and have been out of MA for awhile. Your achievement inspires more people than you realize.

I started back at 35 also. I know how you feel. It's a great feeling. I hope you stick with it for the rest of your life. I am 49 now and working on my 2nd degree Black in JJJ. Make it a lifestyle, try and do something related to martial arts every single day for the rest of your life. Even on Vacation with the wife and kids, you can sneak out early in the morning before every one else wakes up and maybe just do a Form or stretch out your legs.

WAY TO GO!

But rest assure, even your higher ranking fellow students have those wobbly moments where no part works with the other as it's supposed to...

All part of the Journey! May it be a long and happy one for you!

Thanks

I hope my son will join some day as well. I think he would be good at it. One of the reasons why I bought him a shirt that says "I do my own stunts!"

I hope to stay in this school for awhile.

I was actually in TKD back when I was 17 for about a year. I ended up leaving and never getting back into it after I had been knocked out for the 4th time sparring with my instructor in front of the class. Being I was 6'4" and he was 5'5" he could never do a spinning round house kick over my head successfully.

I wonder sometimes how I look doing all these funny moves. But it's all good. Look at it this way, I'm 35, and sometimes I just don't give a darn.
