I love black belt magazine especially the street combat articles and the current events. I hope to make the cover of BB one day. That is one of my goals. LOL

Interesting... I must confess I pick up the occasional Grappling mag. Once in a great while the Inside Kung-Fu and even that rag Blackbelt...

Not recently though. Haven't felt the need to be irritated by every other page being an advertisement...

I subscribe to inside kung fu as well as bb. I get both a couple of months before they hit the newstand. I buy the grappling magazine at the supermarket.

ah 7r14ngL3, i knew you had good taste. i saw it 3 weeks ago at a sneak peek on imax which by the way, is worth the extra couple bucks. some movies i've seen on imax (read Batman Begins) were not well suited to a screen that size, the action was all too close and confusing, but 300 looked like it was filmed for imax

as for martial arts mags, grappling usually has two pages dedicated to a cool technique that are worth reading, but can be absorbed while standing in front of the magazine stand. as for BB and inside kung fu, i get a little sick of hearing that every single art featured is "one of the most devastating and deadly ever known!" with pictures of some fat goofball with black-leather-metal-studded bracers jumping around his backyard with the caption "traditional bat-style kung fu training." and i didn't make that up.

apologies if anyone practices the highly respected, yet rarely heard of bat-style

In the beginning of 300, they showed the Spartans doing martial arts training if that peaks anyone's interest further.

JudoJiboo, i didnt know there was a sneak peak. I liked the scene where the Spartan King was told by the Greek leader that he brought so few soldiers. Then the Spartan King asks a few of the Greek soldiers what their professions were, and they say, "carpenter", "im a sculptor", etc, then he turns around and says, "SPARTA, what is your profession?".... and they shout it in some language. There was alot of other cool scenes too...

I have to say, I find the advertisements very educational

There is some interesting stuff in there (I always knew a cane was bad, but never did I imagine how bad! )

But in all....hmmm, I need another pot of tea to decide!
