    Kumite in Thailand

Rumour is there is going to be a full contact old style Kumite hosted in Thailand early next year. Open by invitation only and invitations only given to traditional martial artists (must wear a uniform). Fighting consists of FULL CONTACT kicking and punching to all targets, knees and possibly elbows, take downs and 10 seconds to dominate on the floor if no immediate tap out before being stood up again. 3 rounds of 1 minute each, finals perhaps 2 minutes. It will be VERY fast paced. Cash prize of 1,000,000 baht (approximately $25,000 U.S.) to the winning SCHOOL. School instructor can give the money to the fighter or use it as he sees fit. School instructor must bring their fighters personally to the kumite and judge on the panel with the other instructors. The atmosphere of this tournament is going to be very old school, traditional and professional. Although it is going to be very Japanese art oriented, all traditional martial artists that are interested will be considered.

Accomodation will be paid for by the kumite host. As far as I know, there is no entrance fee.

Bloodsport was a lie based on the real thing... thought everyone knew this? Frank Dukes never fought in the kumite, everything he said was lie (about his accomplishments). However, the host of this new kumite DID fight in the original kumites before the movie had them shut down in the old host country. He is going to revive the kumite.
